UPDATE:Officials with the Pennsylvania Turnpike and PennDOT say that the roadway has reopened following a tractor-trailer rollover crash Monday morning between the Bedford and Somerset exits. 911 dispatchers say crews were called to the scene of the crash, just after 9 a.m., near the 129 eastbound mile marker. Officials say the driver of the tractor-trailer was injured and the truck was hauling paper, which had spilled onto the roadway. A Turnpike spokesperson said that such a large stretch of the roadway was closed in order to detour the commercial vehicle traffic safely.

BELLEVUE, Wash. (KOMO) — The woman who pleaded guilty to hiring two teens to kill her ex-husband learned her fate Friday afternoon. Shaerin Rose Kelley was sentenced to more than 13 years, 165 months, in prison after admitting to hiring two 17-year-olds to shoot and kill her ex-husband, Baron Li, on July 10, 2020. Li was shot nine times at his apartment complex in Bellevue but miraculously survived and recovered.

The American Red Cross said it critically needs blood and platelet donors now following a concerning decrease in donations as the country has experienced an increase in severe weather systems and historic travel. In fact, during the past month, about 20,000 fewer blood donations were collected than needed to maintain the Red Cross national blood supply. According to the Transportation Security Administration (TSA), five of the busiest travel days ever happened this month and more record-breaking travel is expected this summer — a busy time when many regular donors may be unable to give.

STATE COLLEGE, Pa. – A big weekend in Detroit, with many local school districts traveling to the Motor City to compete. More than 15,000 students from around the world went head-to-head with robots, built from scratch. A team in State College was part of the winning group that brought home the title. The Centre County team was part of the winning alliance to win the FIRST Robotics world championship. The Centre County 4-H Robotics Team won along with Stryke Force from Kalamazoo, Michigan, Team Rush from Clarkston, Michigan, and Lake Effect Robotics from Kingston, Ontario.

DURHAM, N.C. (TND) — Jessica Seinfeld, the wife of comedian Jerry Seinfeld, applauded her husband's supporters Sunday following his commencement speech for Duke University. Dozens of graduates walked out of the ceremony as the comedian took the stage to deliver his address. Other attendees booed, which Jessica Seinfeld said was directed toward the protesters, who she suggested disapproved of her husband’s Jewish identity. Jessica Seinfeld also claimed the rest of the graduates were responsible for the cheers that followed the walkout.

UNIVERSITY PARK - With state lawmakers passing a $1.5 billion borrowing plan Wednesday night to fund the state's budget, state universities look like they will be getting $650 million in university aid. Following Wednesday night's passage in the House, Penn State, Pitt, Temple and Lincoln universities are likely to get their state funding after the four-month stalemate. Penn State President Eric Barron said $318.2 million of the $650 million is heading to Penn State.

WASHINGTON (TND) — A simple majority of 270 or more electoral votes is required to elect the President of the United States. With the upcoming election expected to be a close one, the possibility of neither candidate reaching this majority is low, but it has raised questions about the process that follows a tie. If neither candidate secures the necessary 270 electoral votes, the 12th Amendment of the Constitution comes into play, moving the decision to Congress.
