Centre Co., PA (WJAC) — Federal authorities say a State College native who was convicted for his role in the January 6th Capitol riot has been sentenced to serve 18 months behind bars. Officials say Brian Gunderson was found guilty last November on charges of obstructing an official proceeding and assaulting, resisting or impeding law enforcement. Authorities say Gunderson is accused of "joining a mob of rioters" inside the Parliamentarian’s Office of the building.
STATE COLLEGE, Pa. (WJAC) — State lawmakers are speaking out about the latest review of the Freeh report and its findings. The special review, done by a group of Penn State trustees, is now public. When the Freeh report was released in 2012, it was a bombshell, with findings that top Penn State administrators had repeatedly covered up the actions of convicted child abuser Jerry Sandusky to protect the university's reputation.
FORT CAVAZOS, Texas (KEYE) — Army Specialist Craig Chamberlain was found alive 11 days after he was reported missing -- and soon after his wife mysteriously died. We are thankful that Specialist Chamberlain has been found,” Lt. Col. Zachary Brainard, commander of the 2nd Chemical Battalion at Fort Cavazos, noted in a news release. “We will continue to provide him with the care and assistance he needs.”In a social media post, Chamberlain's mother said he was found in the Killeen area.
Westmoreland County, PA — Authorities in Westmoreland County have identified the woman whose body was found in a local pond earlier this month. The county coroner's office says 34-year-old Kele Diane Townsend was found on the afternoon of Nov. 6th, in the area of Broadview Road in New Stanton. Investigators say they used medical and dental records, tattoos and jewelry in order to identify her. Officials say Townsend's cause and manner of death have not yet been determined.
LORETTO, Pa. (WJAC) — The first annual PennCrest Bank Music Festival was held Saturday evening at the Cresson Lake Playhouse. The weather didn't rain on their parade. They used their indoor and outdoor venues for visitors to listen to professional musicians throughout the evening. Organizers say they hope to make this summer fundraiser an annual event. Artistic Director Paul Seymour said the pandemic cancelled their last two seasons. "This is our first big event since the pandemic.

SOMERSET COUNTY, Pa (WJAC) — Lawmakers in Pennsylvania are looking to remove the ban on Sunday hunting, but some local farmers say this could be a change in the wrong direction. Farmers in Somerset County say their farm is in a cooperative agreement with the Pennsylvania Game Commission. However, they say they’re urging state senators to vote in favor of the ban on Sunday hunting in the state. John and Roberta Peck, of Fort Hill, say their farm has been in their family for over 200 years.
UPDATE | ALTOONA, Pa. (WJAC) — Altoona police are providing new details about the investigation into a New Year's Day shots fired incident that led to the arrests of four teenagers, and authorities searching for a fifth suspect. On Thursday, police charged Domenico Pezzuti, Eli Rodgers, Hezikiah Stehley, Imeen Whitaker, and Ezekiel Williams, all age 16, in connection to the incident. According to the affidavit, police were dispatched early New Year's Day morning for reports of several shots being fired in the area of 4th Street and 7th Avenue.
(TND) — Security footage obtained exclusively by CNN appears to show embattled hip-hop mogul Sean "Diddy" Combs attacking his then-girlfriend Cassie Ventura. The media outlet shared the video Friday, noting that the attack occurred in 2016 at the now-closed InterContinental Hotel in Century City, Los Angeles. The video, dated March 5, 2016, closely resembles the description of an incident described in a November lawsuit filed by Ventura, accusing him of years of sexual abuse and other violence.
