SEWARD, Pa. (WJAC) — A Westmoreland County police officer has been charged after using his authority to exploit women for sex, according to a criminal complaint.
State police say 49-year-old Robert Baldwin Jr. has been charged with obstruction of justice, hindering apprehension and official oppression.
According to state police, Baldwin was the Seward Police Chief and also worked part time as a patrol officer for St. Clair Township.
Troopers say they interviewed a woman in September who claimed Baldwin pulled her over in Seward after she ran a stop sign on her way home from Latrobe in February.

Boswell Area Street Committee put together an open house for churches in the area.
Two churches, St. Andrews Lutheran Church and All Saints Catholic Church, opened their doors Sunday afternoon to welcome visitors.

CENTRE COUNTY, Pa. (WJAC) — Penn State's AG Progress Days continued Wednesday and family farms, agriculture business and the younger generations were hot topics during the annual government luncheon.
On day two of the AG Progress Days, Gov. Tom Wolf dropped by for a visit.
Among the issues he stressed, was the importance of maintaining the state's agriculture industry, along with keeping the younger generation interested in the industry.
In recent years, the industry has lost more than 6,000 farms.
ATLANTIC CITY, N.J. (AP) — The Miss America Organization suspended its CEO on Friday, less than 24 hours afterleaked emails surfaced showing him and others disparaging the appearance, intellect and sex lives of former Miss Americas.
Sam Haskell said he will abide by the suspension, even while decrying the Huffington Post story on Thursday that publicized the emails as "unkind and untrue."
"My mistake is a mistake of words," Haskell wrote in a statement issued Friday night, shortly after the board suspended him indefinitely while it investigates the situation.

Church officials in Blair County say they were left shocked and confused ahead of Easter weekend.
Earlier this week, leaders at St. Mary’s Immaculate Conception Roman Catholic Church found a beloved statue vandalized.
They say the incident happened on Tuesday when the statue was found surrounded by three juveniles by an Altoona School District maintenance worker at around 10 P.M. Officials say when the worker got out of his car, the suspects ran away.
BLACKLICK TOWNSHIP - The coroner's office and state police are investigating a fatal hit-and-run that happened just outside of Nanty Glo Tuesday night.
State police said the man who was killed is 22-year-old Jacob Hale from Mineral Point. Hale was found lying on Cardiff Road in Blacklick Township just before midnight, Cambria County Coroner Jeff Lees said.
Hale was apparently struck by a vehicle in a dark and rural area, according to Lees.
