2nd UPDATE|Clearfield Co., PA (WJAC) — According to PennDOT's 511 PA alert page, Interstate 80 eastbound, near the DuBois exit, has reopened after being closed for several hours due to a fatal crash and snow squalls in the area. Clearfield County coroner Kim Shaffer-Snyder confirmed that her office was called to the scene of the multi-vehicle crash, which was first reported by PennDOT between 11:30 a.m. and noon Friday. Authorities have not confirmed any further details about the crash and 911 officials say state police are investigating.

LANCASTER COUNTY, Pa. (WHP) — Local law enforcement agencies are searching for a registered sex offender who allegedly sexually assaulted a victim before stealing their vehicle in Elizabethtown. According to the Lancaster County District Attorney's office, on Dec. 17 around 8:05 a.m., 38-year-old Shane Kelec raped and assaulted a victim. As a result of the assault, police say the victim suffered a broken nose, a broken rib, subdermal hemorrhage/subdural hematoma, a head laceration that needed nine stiches, and a skull fracture.
Somerset Co., PA (WJAC) — Authorities with the Department of Corrections say an Ebensburg woman is facing charges, accused of engaging in both a personal and sexual relationship with an inmate at SCI Somerset. Investigators say 60-year-old Laurie Semelsberger, who worked at the prison as a Psychological Services Associate, allegedly exchanged over 700 personal phone calls with the inmate from January to August of this year. Authorities say further investigation revealed that some of those phone calls were sexual in nature, and that Semelsberger allegedly discussed intimate, personal details about her family, vacationing and employment history.
PITTSBURGH (WJAC) — Johnstown native Dana Heinze was honored Saturday night by the Pittsburgh Penguins for his 33 years of service to hockey, the past 16 as the team's Equipment Manager. Heinze was introduced with a tribute video prior to their game against the Tampa Bay Lightning as well as gifts from the team, including a painting commemorating his career and a trip to Florida which includes an opportunity to work as an honorary equipment manager for his favorite baseball team, the Boston Red Sox.
ELK Co.-- Pennsylvania's reputation as a prime elk-hunting location continues to get stronger. The state's Special Elk Conservation Tag, a license created by the Pennsylvania General Assembly and auctioned off by the Rocky Mountain Elk Foundation (RMEF) to benefit wildlife, commanded $85,000 at auction March 26. RMEF is located in Montana and has about 13,000 members in PA. Eight tags for use in seven different states were auctioned off; Arizona, Colorado, Montana, Nevada, New Mexico, Pennsylvania, and Washington.
NORTHERN CAMBRIA, Pa (WJAC) — A local congregation showed appreciation to their priest and deacon with a drive-by surprise on Saturday. Trucks from Hope Fire Company and Spangler Fire Company joined dozens of parishioners from Prince of Peace Church in Northern Cambria to support Father Matt Baum and Deacon Gary Gill. Parishioners say the pandemic has not stopped Father Baum from finding ways to share masses with churchgoers. “This was to show them how much we do care and appreciate them,” said Theresa Bauer.

(TND) — The U.S. reportedly stopped a bomb shipment to Israel over concerns about how the 2,000-pound munitions would be used in densely populated Gaza. The Associated Press cited an official who spoke on the condition of anonymity, and White House Press Secretary Karine Jean-Pierre declined comment to reporters Wednesday.
