SEATTLE (KOMO) — After seven months of construction, the city of Seattle formally debuted afirst-of-its-kind "protected intersection".
"I think the biggest thing is the actual light. There was no light here before," said Seattle resident Harper Ellison as she looked at the new traffic light and painted crosswalks.
In November, the city started construction on this "protected intersection" at Dexter Avenue North and Thomas Street in the South Lake Union neighborhood, which was routinely one of the most congested in the city.

West End Ambulance only station in county with specialty ambulance to carry obese patients

JOHNSTOWN - One ambulance center in Cambria County has a specialty piece of equipment no other station has, called Bariatric Transport. It's used to carry a patient who is overweight or obese. "It gives us the ability to move an obese person in a safe and dignified manner," said Ira Hart, director of West End Ambulance. The bariatric stretcher's purpose is to help transport patients in and out of their home to a hospital.

The boil water advisory that was issued for Manor Drive in Ebensburg on October 4th has been lifted. “All precautionary lab testing results have come back negative. The water is back to normal for all customers, and safe to drink," says Jeff Evans, Ebensburg’s Public Works Director.

Authorities in Pulaski County, Virginia have identified the body of a woman who was found submerged inside a car at a popular lake earlier this month.
