Centre Co., PA (WJAC) — Authorities say more criminal charges have been filed in connection to what police say was a large-scale drug ring operating in Centre County and surrounding areas. According to a recently released grand jury investigation, close to a dozen people were involved in the drug distribution network, including 46-year-old Larry David, of State College, who was identified as the head of the drug ring. Police initially arrested David in the spring of 2021, and say they found over 1,400 baggies of heroin in his car, but the investigation of David, and others, dates back to 2020.
ROCKVIEW, Pa. (WJAC) — Officials at the State Correctional Institute at Rockview said an inmate was found dead in his cell Sunday afternoon. According to a news release, 40-year-old David Fry was found unresponsive by prison staff just before 4:45 p.m. Officials said staff members immediately performed CPR until an ambulance arrived. They were unable to revive him. According to the release, Fry was convicted of second-degree murder in Erie County in 1998 and was sentenced to life in prison.
PITTSBURGH (WPXI) — Four former PetSmart employees in Pittsburgh have been charged in the death of a toy poodle. A.J. Ross brought her toy poodle Kobe to this PetSmart store to be groomed last November. When she came to pick up the dog, he was dead. Ross then rushed Kobe to a nearby animal hospital, but after 15 minutes of CPR, hospital staff pronounced the dog dead. All four former employees are facing felony animal cruelty and neglect charges for their alleged role in the dog's death, which happened during a nail trim.

Cambria Co., PA (WJAC) — Old building, new purpose. Cambria County officials say they recently purchased a medical building in Ebensburg and renovated it into a court annex. Officials say that the new building, located off of Route 22, will be home to Cambria County’s domestic relations and adult probation offices, and the day reporting center. President of the Cambria County Board of Commissioners office Thomas Chernisky hosted the opening ceremony and talks about the work that will be done inside the building.
