ALTOONA, Pa. (WJAC) — Employees at an Altoona Burger King have a bit of a mess on their hands after a car came crashing into the restaurant Tuesday. It happened at the Burger King on W. Plank Road. Management tells 6 News that a driver hit a concrete barrier in the parking lot and accelerated right into the side of the building, taking out a panel of windows and some brickwork.

Bridgeton, MO — An argument inside a fast food restaurant Saturday in Missouri resulted in an employee shooting a customer, according to police. Bridgeton, Missouri police say a 17-year-old employee at a Popeye’s restaurant shot a customer in the lobby. Investigators say there was an altercation between the customer and a female employee that led up to the shooting. The victim was rushed to the hospital in critical condition and the employee was taken into custody.
ALTOONA, Pa. (WJAC) — The Ronald McDonald House Mid-Penn Chapter held its annual charity golf tournament Monday at Sinking Valley Country Club. A total of 36 foursomes competed, with the real winners being the families who use the Ronald McDonald House. Ronald McDonald Mid-Penn distributes several different grants each year to help with such things like RMH housing costs, playgrounds --anything to help a sick child and their families get their minds off of the illness for a while.

In a letter led by Parents Defending Education (PDE), the 53 groups accused U.S. Department of Education Secretary Miguel Cardona of violating the rights of students through the changes. The new regulations released earlier this month broaden the federal civil rights law to prohibit discrimination based on sexual orientation and gender identity in educational institutions receiving federal funding.
UNIVERSITY PARK – Fans are gearing up for ESPN’s College GameDay at Penn State on Saturday. The Nittany Lions will take on Michigan at 7:30 p.m. at Beaver Stadium in a White Out game. Prior to the big game, the award-winning show will broadcast live from the lawn of the university’s iconic Old Main. Saturday’s broadcast marks the sixth time College GameDay has been to Penn State. The former teacher in Tennessee who was accused of raping a child has been arrested again, less than three weeks later — this time for coercion of a witness, aggravated stalking, and harassment. Alissa McCommon, 38, was first arrested on Sept. 8. She bailed out and was not allowed to have any contact with the alleged victim, or any minors other than her own children. But Covington police say that’s not what happened.
HARRISBURG - History was made in the state once again this year. On Thursday at the Pennsylvania Game Commission headquarters, officials said a trophy whitetail rack shattered the previous record in the Typical Archery category in state records. Ron Shaulis, of West Newton, Pennsylvania, harvested the trophy buck on Oct. 24 with a compound bow on public land in Westmoreland County. The rack had a net score of 185-4/8, which surpasses the previous record of 178-2/8 from a buck harvested in Allegheny County in 2004.
